Choices Abortion Network (CAN) was founded because everyone deserves timely access to abortion care. No one should be denied care because of money, transportation, politics, or lack of support.
Today, CAN helps people in Southern Arizona get the care they need with less delay and less stress. We work to reduce common barriers such as cost, travel, lodging, childcare, and other practical needs.
Above all, we believe patients should be treated with respect, privacy, and compassion. For this reason, our work is focused on helping people make their own healthcare decisions without shame or judgment.
Choices Abortion Network (CAN) board members were selected for their deep, long-standing ties to the Tucson community both personally and professionally and for their shared commitment to protecting patient choice. Each brings a unique perspective rooted in decades of service, leadership, and advocacy for reproductive freedom.
Together, we are building a local support network that reflects the values and needs of the community we serve.
Founder / President
Dr. Richardson is a board-certified OB/GYN with more than 35 years of experience in reproductive healthcare. He is the founder and Medical Director of Choices Women’s Center and previously served as Medical Director of Planned Parenthood Arizona.
Treasurer
Retired Grant Manager with Tucson Unified School District. Jose brings decades of experience in public finance and grant oversight, along with a strong commitment to fair access and community support.
Secretary
Chief Operating Officer and Office Manager at Choices Women’s Center. Elizabeth brings more than 30 years of experience in patient care, clinic operations, and abortion access in Tucson.
Board Member
Dr. Harkins is a family medicine physician and abortion provider who supports compassionate, respectful care. He is committed to reproductive justice and improving access to healthcare for rural communities throughout Arizona.

Retired OB/GYN and co-founder of Midtown OB/GYN in Tucson, Arizona. Dr. Laudonio is committed to ethical reproductive healthcare, fair access to care, and patient choice.

Former Office Manager at Midtown OB/GYN, where Sandra worked alongside her husband, Frank Laudonio, MD, for more than 20 years. She is a trusted member of the Tucson medical community with a long history of supporting patient choice and dignity.
